Decoding Simplicity
Simplicity is often overlooked and is more subtle than we might think. Simplicity is the ability to know when something needs more or when it is appropriate to let go of something. Simplicity is being atuned to your life situation and being aware of what is important and will help you be well.
Simplicity is the wisdom to let go of habits that don't serve us any longer. Simplicity is letting yourself be mindful and be able to overcome the compulsive need to overcommit and overschedule and not actually be present.
"Simplicity involves unburdening your life, and living more lightly with fewer distractions that interfere with a high quality life, as defined uniquely by each individual."
Linda Breen Pierce
Simplicity is being in support of awareness, clarity and spaciousness.
When we keep it simple we
can allow spontaneity, because we are not overwhelmed and dealing with clutter
can tap into newness and possibilities, because we are able to let go of what doesn't work
can let go of preconceived ideas of how things should be and focus on what is
let ourselves rest in our natural state of calmness and relaxed ease and mindfulness
can be aligned because we have clear focus and know what is valuable
Taking steps to simplify your life can at first be a major task and is requiring a willingness to be open to a whole new world view. Not only will you be able to learn a great deal about yourself, when you start simplifying your life, you may also unexpectedly find your inner wisdom coming to the surface supporting your transformative steps.
Living simply, allows for you to truly be embodied and present with what you need, and to become fully energetically aligned with what is truly important to you.
Simplicity is a state of happiness, because you are at ease in your mind and body, and you feel things are in their place. So many moments in life are precious, and we let them slip by overcomplicating a situation and not feeling into what is actually truly important.
Simplicity reminds us of the essentialness of life. When do you spend your energy and how? What do you focus your life energy on? What is truly important to your situation? Bringing change into your life could potentially feel overwhelming. Simplicity can help feel confident and take one step at a time. If you only changed one thing during the week, or you started to do one thing differently over the next few weeks, what would that be like?
Simplicity is the key to focus and focus is the key to intention, which allows us to complete things and get things done. Every time you take one simple step you are moving closer to completing an important task and enjoying the process.
