7 Ways To Stay On Track
Here are some of the essential ingredients to overcome obstacles and to stay on track with your goals.
1. Develop confidence and steadfastness
One of the main ways to stay on track with any new habit, or goal you have set for yourself, is to be able to develop a degree of steadfastness. Steadfastness, is being willing and capable to stay with a goal, and to be able to let yourself be focused and in alignment with it, without distractions and excuses. As you develop that steadfastness, so does your confidence, and you become increasingly able to become focused and aligned without being thrown of track.
2. Belief in yourself
Limiting beliefs might hinder your progress, more than you realize. Most of us have a variety of self-imposed limitations, or limiting beliefs that unconsciously influence our ability to take action and be in alignment. It is helpful to believe in yourself, your capabilities and innate ability to change. It is helpful to believe in the goal you want to accomplish, as it will hinder you less, and bring up less resistance. Believing in yourself is important, and it is known that the more you trust yourself, the easier it will be to accomplish your set goals or aims.
3. Have gratitude
Life thrives on appreciation. All life is unfolding more easily when there is love and an appreciation for it's many facets and details. If we keep focusing on what is not working in our life, and focus on the difficulty without staying open to the many possibilities, we close down what can be helpful and could unlock the door to the next step. Take a moment of your time today, and appreciate and give gratitude to what is already present in your life.
4. Set clear and simple goals
Each person has a different way of approaching goal setting. What works is to keep it simple and stick to a few well-formed conditions. Your goal needs to be stated in the positive, be self-maintained and have a specific time frame. It also helps to stay on track to keep yourself accountable.
5. Create an environment that is supportive
Make your living and work environment less cluttered. The simpler your space to work in is, the better results you get. There are many options for you to simplify your environment. Consider going paperless, clear up your desk and organize your office. Have only items around you you truly benefit from and give away what is not needed.
6. Overcome self-judgement
Internal judgement is a main reason, people abandon their goals, or get stuck in procrastination. Find out how you relate to yourself around the specific goal you have. Are you able to stay committed because you have an internal voice telling you "you should do it" or are you able to maintain interest based on a true heartfelt motivation.
7. Have a clear defined vision
A vision helps you to stay on track. The more we allow ourselves to notice the 'big picture' the easier it gets to follow through and not get sidetracked or overwhelmed with steps that are unessential to our success. A vision is connected to our unique contribution, and relates to the question "For whom?" or "For what?. People who experience meaninglessness around their goals, are usually not connected to a life vision and it is beneficial to look at the larger framework beyond a single intent.
